Mariana was born in Mexico City, Mexico. She began her formal training at the tender age of three, taking ballet and tap. By 9 years of age, Mariana began her professional career, starring in a Mexican rendition of "Greece" (Onda Vaselina). The success immediately led into the recording of several albums and the once children's group evolved into one of Mexico's largest pop groups ever; later to be called OV7. This group sold more than 5 million copies worldwide during a 14 year time span.

Once the group decided to call it quits Mariana immediately pursued her dream of acting and began taking classes. Her first acting project, the primetime telenovela taped in 2003, "La Hija del Jardinero" (The Gardener's Daughter) was a huge success. Mariana played the lead character Luisa Fernanda. The telenovela was sold in more than 50 countries. Immediately following the project Mariana went on to record her first album as a soloist. The pop album, titled "Yo soy" (I am), reached the top of the Mexican charts and led to a successful tour. In 2005, following the momentum of the album, Mariana began her second telenovela, "Top Models" where she starred as both Paloma and Mariana. After the completion of "Top Models", Mariana continued studying acting and English in New York at the finest institutes. In the winter of 2005 Hollywood called and Mariana filmed her first movie, "Chinaman's Chance". Soon after Mariana taped her third telenovela, "Amor sin Condiciones" where she stared as Maria Claudia (also called Maria Clara). This program was viewed in more than 70 countries.

Mariana is currently preparing her second album as a soloist with Warner Music Mexico. She plans on continuing acting in both telenovelas and film in the near future.
