A very Australian interruption occurred at the Brisbane International Tennis tournament on Saturday – snake stopped play.
News.com.au reports that former world number three Austrian player Dominic Thiem was competing in a qualifying match against Australian James McCabe when a snake was spotted, having slithered onto courtside.
While snakes are common in Australia, spectators soon spotted that this was a poisonous eastern brown snake almost hidden in the electrical wiring at the side of the court.
First the tennis at the Brisbane International is suspended because of storms then one of the courts is suspended due to a snake on the court.

Bengaluru, Feb 20 (Ians) Top-seed Chun-Hsin Tseng of Taipei and Australias Marc Polmans advanced to the Round of 16 of the Bengaluru Open 2023 with comprehensive wins, here on Monday.
There was some good news for local tennis fans as India’s Pranjesh Gunneswaran qualified for the main draw by winning his final qualifying round match. But the focus was on Tseng, a World No 131, who did not have to break much sweat in warding off Frederico Silva of Portugal in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
Tseng bagged the first set 6-4 with the help of a single break. The Taipei player was in full control of the proceedings, sending down 3 aces and winning a humongous 93 percent of first serves.
The second set started in a rather bizarre manner with both Tseng and Silva trading breaks in the first five games. Both the players committed a slew of unforced errors in that passage of the game.

"We need to go... Now." Gravitas + Kamikaze Dogfight have released an official trailer for an indie horror film titled Chop Chop, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Rony Patel. The film is hitting VOD next month just before Halloween, for anyone interested. Chaos ensues when a serial killer psychopath targets a loving young couple who might be harboring a secret of their own. An innocent night at home is ruined when he shows up, but there might be more to the lovers than meets the eye. The cast includes Atala Arce, Jake Taylor, David Harper, Mikael Mattsson, Jeremy Jordan, Mike Thompson, & James McCabe. This looks extra bloody and extra brutal, and made with a very low budget. Check this out below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Rony Patel's Chop Chop, direct from YouTube: An innocent night between a young couple takes a very bizarre turn when...

Tagline: "A Killer Cut..." Chop Chop is a horror film from director Rony Patel. Involving dark themes of kidnapping and psychological torture, Chop Chop looks to bring a psychopath into homes. In the story, a home invasion does not go as planned as one killer is not expecting any resistance. Recently, a movie poster and a few stills were release for the film, which stars: James McCabe (Drifter), Theresa Byron (Toxicity), Paul Syre and Jeremy Jordan. The latest on Chop Chop is hosted here. The poster shows the psychopath and his latest victim. The tagline "a Killer Cut..." means that nothing will be held back. A Fairwolf Production, the graphic also shows a man constrained by a gag. And, this confrontation will leave only one man standing. The film poster for Chop Chop is a deadly one. The early stills also show scenes of violence. A similar gagged man is struggling with his new reality.

After a botched robbery during which one of them takes a grisly wound to the hand, two brothers hide out in a small desert town. Before you can say ‘abrupt tonal shift’ they’re besieged by bloodthirsty monsters and fighting for their lives against forces darker and nastier than they could ever hope to be. No, not vampires – crazies and cannibals.
From the desert-drenched visuals to the wannabe left-field tonal shift and ‘badass’ sibling duo, it’s quite obvious from the outset that Drifter really wants to be From Dusk Till Dawn. It’s a comparison that’s openly welcomed; a film which would love to have “From Dusk Till Dawn meets...

You can be two things inside a post-apocalyptic wasteland devoid of morality according to writer/director Chris von Hoffmann: stoic badass on a journey of vengeance or unhinged cartoon cannibal with tongue readier to lick flesh than gun is to blow a hole in someone’s head. There’s no room for anything in between whether compassionate souls trying to survive amongst malicious wild cards or cautious, anxiety-ridden kids in way over their heads. Either way you’re going to die — not in an esoteric “we all die” sort of way, but a brutal demise brought on by that stoic badass or muscle-bound kook maniacally laughing with his/her tongue on your cheek. At least you can rest well knowing your killer will die soon too. It’s the little things after all.
So what do you do while awaiting death in such a nihilistic purgatory? Well, the characters...

The concept of “copying” has become demonized to the point of criticism in film these days, and for good reason. The concept of copying story points and aesthetics or visual flourishes from other films is cheating if there’s nothing else brought to the table. However, once in awhile, there’s actually a movie that comes along that isn’t exactly it’s own, isn’t exactly original, but has enough to create an entertaining movie. Drifter surprisingly fits right into that category. There are moments of the film that call back to so many films including, Mad Max, The Rover, the works of David Lynch and a variety of cannibal movies, but the overall stellar direction, editing, and acting make Drifter a film that continues to surprise and shock.
What allows this film to better occupy the range in which it’s inherent unoriginality doesn...

No one is safe in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Chris von Hoffmann’s upcoming “Drifter.” Seriously, no one. In von Hoffmann’s first feature film, two brothers find themselves crossing paths with a family of psychotic cannibals when they get stuck in a desolate town at the end of the world. Relatable.
