Warning: Spoilers for Batman: The Adventures Continue: Season 3, #5 ahead! The black and red Batman Beyond suit has long been one of Batman's most powerful and dramatic outfits, but until now its history in the Dcau has largely been a mystery. While this origin has been hinted at in previous issues, this latest revelation confirms the suspicions of eagle-eyed readers.
The three-part storyline "Crack-Up!" by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Ty Templeton, and Monica Kubina is primarily concerned with a race between Batman and the Suicide Squad to rescue Captain Carl Finley from the Joker, who has renamed him "Straightman" and brainwashed him into acting as his hulking henchman. A third party soon makes a play for Finley as well: a mysterious...

Batman: The Adventures Continue has been like a warm blanket amidst the cold horror of ::waves at everything::, giving Paul Dini, Alan Burnett, and Ty Templeton the chance to come home to the universe they tended for years and build on ideas and relationships from the old show. And now, a big name from the comics is making his way into animated continuity for the first time.
