George Rr Martin has heard your complaints, and he has a message for fans who are still patiently waiting for The Winds of Winter. The acclaimed author of A Song ofIce and Fire on which Game of Thrones series was based has been working on several projects including the upcoming adaptation of his works House of the Dragon season 3 and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Martin addressed fans’ concerns in a new blog post where he was talking about producing animated adaptation of Howard Waldrop's A Dozen Tough Jobs.
“I know, I know. Some of you will just be pissed off by this, as you are by everything I announce here that is not about Westeros or The Winds Of Winter. You have given up on me, or on the book” Martin noted. He sarcastically went on to list the usual criticism by fans, “I will never finish Winds,...

Sophie Turner and Kit Harington both burst onto the scene in Game of Thrones, where they played half-siblings/secret cousins Sansa Stark and Jon Snow. They didn't have much interaction for most of the series, but towards they end, they were the first of the sundered Stark family to reunite, which was very powerful after watching the Starks get brutalized for years on end.
Turner and Harington have both gone on to have solid careers after the end of Thrones, but they'll soon be reuniting in a movie called The Dreadful. Set in the 15th century during the War of the Roses, The Dreadful stars Sophie Turner as Anne, who lives with her mother Morwen (Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden) on the outskirts of society. Kit Harington stars as Jago, a mysterious man from their past who reenters their lives.

What Would’ve Happened If Jon Snow Never Joined The Night’s Watch In Game Of Thrones? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
If Jon Snow (Kit Harington) had never ridden north to the Wall, Game of Thrones might’ve played out differently. Instead of frostbitten nights on patrol, wildling skirmishes, or dealing with undead armies, Jon had options and solid ones. And no, we’re not talking about awkward dinners with Catelyn.
The illegitimate son of Lord Eddard Stark from Winterfell had more than just a sword and a direwolf. Despite the cold shoulder from Lady Stark, Ned and Robb both respected him. And when Ned left for King’s Landing as Hand of the King, Jon’s life could’ve shifted toward something greater, without ever donning black.

Spoilers follow.
The veil of Gilead has been lifted for many characters in season 6 of "The Handmaid's Tale," which will hopefully lead to its downfall. Commander Lawrence is fed up with the weak, power-hungry "religious nutjobs" leading the country. After discovering Handmaids at Jezebel's in episode 3, "Devotion," Aunt Lydia finally realizes that their "sacred duty" was nothing more than a facade for men to get off on manipulating and controlling women. We're still questioning where Serena Joy truly stands; after experiencing freedom in Canada, she's been pulled back into New Bethlehem and is now off in la-la-land with Commander Wharton.
In the episode "Shattered," June realized that all Serena's upcoming nuptials present the perfect opportunity to hatch a new plan, after their mission at Jezebel's was thwarted with devastating results: the women that worked there were killed by firing squad. This post contains spoilers for HBO's "Game of Thrones."
Young actor Bella Ramsey has impressed audiences with their performance as Ellie on the post-apocalyptic HBO series "The Last of Us," starring opposite Pedro Pascal's Joel on the horrifying and heartbreaking video game adaptation. But before they served as the beating heart of the fungus-zombie series, Ramsey starred as a very different kind of young hero on HBO's fantasy series "Game of Thrones."
In "Game of Thrones," based on the "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels by author George R.R. Heading into Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Jonathan Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers runs are absolute must-reads. Both series culminated with the Secret Wars event, and it's been rumoured that the writer's work is heavily inspiring Marvel Studios.
Hickman came up with the idea of Incursions; when the Beyonders decided to kill the universe, they destroyed an Earth and caused a cascading series of "Incursion Events" which led to countless worlds colliding. When that happened, both universes would be destroyed, and the only way to delay the inevitable was for the denizens of one Earth to destroy the other.
Eventually, it came down to Earth-616 and Earth-1610 (the Ultimate Universe), leading us straight into Secret Wars. Hickman's run was full of incredible moments and mind-bending ideas—don't even get us started on the Builders; they could carry a film of their own—and we've now singled out half...

It's not a particularly unpopular opinion to say that "Game of Thrones" didn't have the best ending (though I'll say that some people right here at /Film might disagree with me). The series, which is based on George R.R. Martin's novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire," came to a close after eight seasons in May of 2019 not with a bang, but with a piteous whimper. So, do showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have any regrets? Yes, apparently — but their regrets aren't related to the series finale "The Iron Throne" at all!
In a January 2024 story for The Hollywood Reporter, Benioff and Weiss said they had one major shared regret: that Mord the Jailer, a small character seen in the show's first season who was played by Ciaran Bermingham, never returned. "One thing I know I wish we could have done is there's the character Mord the Jailer,...

Game of Thrones has been praised by casual fans and critics alike for creating a parade of unforgettable television moments. These could be battles, character deaths, reveals, or thought-provoking speeches.
The best of these sequences left lasting impressions These moments have achieved iconic status and influenced TV and even pop culture at large. Let's look back at some of the best sequences to come out of this legendary show:
10. Jaime's confession
For the two seasons of the show, audiences hated Jaime Lannister. Since his introduction in the first episode, he displayed a condescending attitude and frequently verbally sparred with the Starks, not to mention pushing one of the youngest Starks out a window. These characteristics, alongside his decision to commit regicide on King Aerys II Targaryen, made him look like a villain.

There was once a time when the game for the Iron Throne turned truly savage. A time when trust would turn thinner than Valyrian steel. While Daenerys Targaryen forged her fearsome legend as the Breaker of Chains in Essos, a wedding feast painted the northern banner red with an unforgettable betrayal in Westeros.
Game of Thrones Season 3 wasn’t just another chapter: it was a crucible of emotions that The Seven Kingdoms can never forget. Two particular events reshaped the board completely in this brutal chapter. One firmly taught us that a Dragon is indeed not a slave. But the other arguably cast the longest shadow (and the darkest one) on the entire GoT franchise.

The Red Wedding was more than just a betrayal. It was an opera of death, staged with Shakespearean ruthlessness.

There’s always been something different about the Starks in George R.R. Martin’s world, the power, the unshakable presence. But of them all, Bran Stark stands apart. As Game of Thrones progressed, Bran didn’t just mature he became something entirely other.
By the end of season six, he had assumed the mantle of the Three-Eyed Raven, a being with the ability to see across time. With that transformation, I began to suspect that Bran wasn’t just a passive observer of Westeros’ history; he might be its most influential player. And now, a theory rooted in The Winds of Winter might finally confirm what I’ve long believed, that this Stark may be the true architect of everything evil in Westeros.

When Abby showed up in The Last of Us Season 2, fans had strong opinions about her. Some loved her, others just couldn’t stand her character. Many even went as far as to compare her with Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow, the misunderstood hero with a good heart.
But this comparison didn’t quite fit in, as Abby’s story isn’t about being noble or doing the right thing for the greater good. It was a whole lot messier and way more complicated.
And if we’re being honest, her story is more in sync with Theon Greyjoy, as both of them carry deep guilt and go through painful journeys trying to find themselves again. Let’s dive deeper and understand why Abby and Theon Greyjoy are more or less on the same lines, just different shows.

Fans no longer practice the same caution they once did with Netflix anime (animated series to be apt). All thanks to series like Castlevania, Arcane, and even Devil May Cry. But Blood of Zeus might or might not fall in the same category, depending on who you ask. The show is massively popular, but not without it’s fair share of flaws.
Ahead of the upcoming season of Blood of Zeus, one can’t help but reminisce about the things that went wrong in the previous seasons, and how they can be improved in the next one. One particular area where the series could easily excel was in the narrative department, but it might be too late for that.

If there’s anyone more excited than we are following the revival of the dire wolves, it’s none other than George R.R. Martin. The famed author of the novel series A Song of Ice and Fire expressed his joy and thrill to be a part of this scientific breakthrough.
Dire wolves are very significant characters in his books, and they hold sentimental value as well for Martin. His love for the creature was what brought Game of Thrones to existence, and without these formerly extinct animals, we would never have known Westeros.

Colossal Biosciences proudly announced to the world the rebirth of the once-extinct dire wolf. People usually associate these animals with mythology and legends, even believing they are only found in fantasy stories—but no, they once walked the Earth thousands of years ago.

It has been over a decade since George R.R. Martin’s A Dance with Dragons hit the shelves, and since then, fans have been waiting for the arrival of the series conclusion, The Winds of Winter. While it remains to be seen when the final novel arrives, scientists, on the other hand, have now revived one iconic Game of Thrones creature, which went extinct around 13000 years ago.

The North really does remember. The genetic engineering company Colossal Biosciences announced on the morning of April 7 that they've successfully brought direwolves back to life. Well, sort of. They took dire wolf DNA found from old fossils and, as The Hollywood Reporter reported, mixed them with "the genetic code of a gray wolf, the species' closest living relative." They now have three young, living dire wolves roaming around, just three shy of what the Stark family found at the start of "Game of Thrones." As THR explained:
"The Colossal company has named its two new male dire wolves — a pair of six-month old adolescents — Romulus and Remus, after the mythological twin founders of Rome, who were said to have been raised by a wolf. And in an homage to 'Game of Thrones' [character] Daenerys Targaryen, it's christened a female puppy Khaleesi. The trio are now living in an enclosed preserve of...

Author George R. R. Martin is best known for his series of epic fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire, which were adapted as Game of Thrones and its prequel House of the Dragon. Martin is one of the most influential people worldwide who admires the works of J. R. Tolkien.
Game of Thrones introduced the world to the Lannisters, Targaryens, Starks, Martells, and more, especially the ones who had not read the books. House Stark has always been associated with direwolves, and their bond runs deeper than what we’ve seen in Game of Thrones. If anything, the show barely scratched the surface of their connection, both literally and figuratively.
We remember that in the beginning, the Stark children found a litter of orphaned pups, one for each of the siblings: Robb names his wolf Grey Wind, Sansa gets Lady, Arya has Nymeria, Bran takes Summer, Rickon with Shaggydog, and Jon Snow receives Ghost.

The most interesting fact about the Starks is that they aren’t only believed to be in possession of wolf blood, but they have the ability to warg into their direwolves as well.

There are many great official pairings in the world of Game of Thrones. Some of the romances were beloved by fans, but fan-fiction gives people a chance to explore other possibilities.
Fan-fiction writers have explored many different pairings over the years. Some of the stories they write are set in the modern world, while others are set in the world that George R.R. Martin created with A Song of Ice and Fire. Of course, there are always going to be some pairings more popular than others, even if you don’t initially think you’ll like them.
Using data from popular fan-fiction repository Archive of Our Own, we’re taking a look at the eight most popular pairings from the Game of Thrones universe, arranged from the most popular to the least, and explaining why so many people are behind them and why there are so many fan-fics written with them at the center.

Game of Thrones is filled with rich, complex stories and unforgettable characters, with a world brimming with so many references that no small detail is considered insignificant. Take, for instance, the house sigils. From an outsider’s point of view, these are merely symbols woven on flags or impressed on armors, but they actually carry decades of history and legacy.

HBO’s international television phenomenon,Game of Thrones, dominated the world of pop culture for most of the 2010s. The fantasy series became one of the most successful shows in television history, thanks to its innovative blending of genres. Incorporating supernatural elements into historical drama allowed the show to take both genres to new heights. Fire-breathing dragons and terrifying ice zombies were far from the only dangers characters had to face as they vied for power, and often the most formidable adversaries were their own allies.
A minor character in Game of Thrones' first season, Rickard Karstark became increasingly important in the narrative as the show progressed. Karstark is a perfect example of how George Rr Martin uses realistic human drama to flip the conventional fairytale script, allowing the narrative to portray poignant stories of betrayal and loss. The fallout between Rickard Karstark and Robb Stark shows the complexities and horrors of war,...

It didn’t take too long before HBO brought viewers back to Westeros after Game of Thrones concluded in 2019. The prequel series House of the Dragon followed and gave us an in-depth look at the life of the Targaryens, one of the noble houses we’ve encountered in the original series.

Among the families in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, the dragonriders are as popular as the members of House Stark, and given the vast history and culture of Winterfell, many fans are surely down for a spinoff featuring the powerhouse of the North.
House Stark spinoff might happen following HBO boss’ statement
House of the Dragon received the go signal as early as 2019, and one of its distinct differences from Game of Thrones is its intimate setup that focuses on only one family instead of several warring clans.

Game of Thrones was a big spectacle at its height, being everything anyone could talk about when it came to pop culture. With its thrilling story structure, which focused on cliffhangers and twists to move the narrative forward, spoilers became a major part of the plot.

This post contains spoilers for HBO's "Game of Thrones" and the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series.
We're told over and over again throughout "Game of Thrones" that Jon Snow's whole deal is "being a bastard." Played by Kit Harington, Jon shows up in the pilot as the apparent bastard son of the honorable Ned Stark (Sean Bean), the patriarch of House Stark in the northern reaches of Westeros, and some random tavern wench. But when you learn more about Ned and his nature, the idea that Jon could possibly be the result of an affair seems sort of ludicrous. Despite that, Jon is constantly met with hostility from Ned's wife Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), who thinks Jon is a reminder of Ned's greatest misstep as a husband, and he's not treated with as much kindness and respect...

This post contains spoilers for "Dune" Parts 1 and 2, as well as for Frank Herbert's novel, "Dune."
The "Dune" series has a reputation for being overly stoic, but there has always been one clear counter to that critique for fans to point to: the very romantic storyline between Jessica and Leto. These two loved each other so much that they unwittingly spurred a series of events that led to the deaths of billions of people across the universe. They're basically like Anakin and Padme from the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy, except competently written.
But even though Jessica and Duke Leto clearly love each other, they were never married. Instead, Jessica's official role was as Leto's concubine. She bore his son, but never received the honor of being called his wife. This may sound like an insult, and in the movies, it certainly seems like an awkward topic for them to...

This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3 and beyond.
House of the Dragon is the newest HBO series based on George R.R. Martin's prequel Fire & Blood, yet another book installment in the growing A Song of Ice and Fire franchise. Although the author's long-awaited sixth and seventh novels are still not here, fans can gorge themselves on epic televised adaptations like this one. Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, the series follows the beginning of the end for the Targaryen dynasty as their house is divided by a war of succession.
As is the case with any popular TV show, fans love to speculate and make their theories about what they think will happen next. Some theories hold more weight than others, and as House of the Dragon progresses, others seem increasingly likely. As such, many fan theories actually make sense, especially with Season 2 finished. Coming our way from Gregory W. Once part of an elite clique called “The Pastels,” they harbored a dark secret—years ago, they tormented a less fortunate girl in a cruel prank that ended in tragedy. Strength can be viewed in many different ways, from the conventional might showcased in battle to the strength that comes with power. In a world where men squabble over the Iron Throne and command of Westeros, Game of Thrones introduces a number of strong-willed women who exhibit tremendous strength. Some even surpass their male counterparts, whether in terms of political navigation, determination, or combat capabilities.
While there are strong male Game of Thrones characters from Jon Snow and the Hound to Robert Baratheon, there are plenty of women throughout the series that could give these men a run for their money — and often do, making them fan favorites.

House of the Dragon Season 2 opened with Jacaerys Velaryon seeking support from major houses in Westeros, particularly House Stark. While speaking with Lord Cregan Stark, he learned more about the long history of the bond between their ancestors.

In times when peace and unity are threatened, a strong support system goes a long way, and it’s good to know that the Starks have never forgotten their oath—the pledge made by Lord Rickon Stark to King Viserys I when the latter named Rhaenyra as his heir in the first season. However, this allegiance holds a more sacred reason that goes beyond the politics of Westeros.

One of the most influential television series in modern TV history, Game of Thronesushered in the modern era of "peak TV", bringing premium cable and streaming services to the forefront of the medium for the next 15 years. Over its dominant eight-season run, the series tackled the social and political turmoil of a fantasy universe in a more adult and complex way than television audiences had previously been exposed to.
One of the defining factors for Game of Thrones' immense success was its collection of three-dimensional and nuanced characters, and though the series lost a lot of goodwill with audiences in its less-than-ideal final seasons, the series always strived to have one of the best casts on TV. Many of the best characters in the series were the ones that were on-screen the most, giving audiences ample time to explore their arcs.

Throughout its eight seasons, Game Of Thrones has introduced and explored a huge array of characters, of all shapes, sizes, and moral inclinations. With its core being about war and the scramble to determine who will sit on the Iron Throne, Game Of Thrones has seen plenty of betrayals and those acting in their own best interests.
Got's main villains are generally the ones that ignite the fires of vengeance within the heroes and instigate the various conflicts throughout the series. Some villains are given redemption arcs with serious room for character growth, like Jaime Lannister and the Hound. Other characters show no remorse for their despicable actions and are completely irredeemable right up until their deaths.

Game of Thrones showrunners originally wanted to cut off Rickon Stark from the show, but George R.R. Martin said they should keep him because he’s got plans for the character. Unfortunately, he didn’t do much in the story and even met a very underwhelming death.
Art Parkinson in Game of Thrones / Credits: HBO
At this point, we’re still unsure what plans the author has for Rickon as The Winds of Winter is still in the works. All we know is that the character is alive in the books, and therefore we’ll possibly meet him again sometime in the future.
Game of Thrones showrunners almost completely omitted Rickon Stark
David Benioff and Dan Weiss have faced a number of criticisms for their work on Game of Thrones, and one of these was their choice to eliminate certain characters from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.

Throughout most of its eight-season reign, Game of Thrones captivated audiences with its riveting storytelling and complex characters. One particularly compelling character who was around from the start of Game of Thrones to very nearly the end was Cersei Lannister.
While there were plenty of despicable characters in Game of Thrones, Cersei was responsible for many of the vilest things to happen in the HBO series. The Lannisters, the Starks, and the Targaryens were seen as the three main families in Game of Thrones. While each had their likable protagonists, Cersei certainly emphasized the most villainous aspects of the Lannister clan. As the series progressed, Cersei's ploys became increasingly bolder and more sinister.

HBO Max’s Game of Thrones brought George R.R. Martin’s fascinating world to life, but like any adaptation, it had to cut and simplify many aspects of the original A Song of Ice and Fire books. Some of these missing or altered details are minor, but others fundamentally change the way events, characters, and Westerosi culture are understood. Book readers know the rich lore behind these concepts, but show fans might have a difficult time understanding the depth of certain events the showrunners just hinted at without explaining them, making certain moments in the show feel incomplete, contradictory, or lacking impact. Here are ten things from Game of Thrones that only make full sense to book readers.
The Reeds and Their Connection to the North Image via HBO
The Reed family, particularly Meera and Jojen, play an essential role in Bran Stark’s storyline, but the show drastically downplays their importance.

Viewers fell in love with Game of Thronesfor its depiction of strategic thinking and a web of intrigues, but some characters make dangerously poor decisions throughout the show. Every character had their little plan and was working toward it, tricking everyone else around them and playing the titular "Game of Thrones." It made the show exciting to watch, as the different characters tested their different skills against each other.
However, even the smartest players in Westeros can make some very ill-advised mistakes on occasion. Unlike some of the show's inconsistencies, these mistakes were part of the plot, and these glaring misjudgments by characters would come back to haunt them. Here are the most poorly made decisions in Game of Thrones.
Updated on February 6, 2025, by Arthur Goyaz: Even the best political masterminds and battle strategists will make mistakes in Game of Thrones. And in Westeros, a single careless choice can cost your life.

Quick LinksThe Age of Heroes Featured a Distinct WesterosThe Long Night Defined the Age of HeroesEach Major House Had Its Own HeroHow the Age of Heroes Related To Game of Thrones
In Game of Thronesand House of the Dragon, history is everything. Characters regularly reflect on ages gone by, whether it means referencing Old Valyria, Aegon's Conquest, Robert's Rebellion, or even the Long Night. Most of the stars work desperately to prevent the destruction of Westeros through a second Long Night. Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Rhaenyra Targaryen, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), and Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) all spent their lives working to stop the White Walkers. Unfortunately, none of them were quite able to prevent the Night King's return.
Yet the actual details of the first Long Night remain an ongoing mystery. The events took place during the Age of Heroes, thousands of years before the events of either show.

One of the most important moments in the Game of Thrones franchise came when Ned Stark, who had seemed to be one of the main protagonists, lost his head. This told audiences that anybody could die at any time, a concept that drew a lot of fans in. Looking back, it actually seemed like this event was inevitable, with many steps clearly leading him to his execution.
With that being said, it can be interesting to think back on how things might have gone differently. Was there a point in the narrative where Ned or his family could have made different choices which would have changed his fate?
On a first watch, it seems like Ned's fate is in the hands of his daughter, Sansa Stark. She sends a letter to keep her brother Robb from going to war and begs the newly installed King Joffrey, her betrothed, for mercy.

Aisling Franciosi, who played Lyanna Stark in Game of Thrones, recently spoke about the idea of reprising her role in a possible spinoff series centered on Robert’s Rebellion. Franciosi, best known as the mother of Jon Snow, revealed during an interview at the Sundance Film Festival that she’d love to be part of the franchise again.

Last August, A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin gave a talk at the Oxford Writers House, where he discussed the ongoing effort to complete his book series, his misgivings about screenwriters who adapt books but "make them their own," his mixed feelings about fame, and his conviction that dragons have two legs, not four, consarnit. Fansite Los Siete Reinos is now drilling down on some other comments Martin made at this event concerning his thoughts about fantasy literature more generally.
Specifically, Martin was asked whether fantasy authors should write stories with a mind towards exploring real world social and political issues. Specifically, Martin was asked whether fantasy authors should write stories with a mind towards exploring real world social and political issues. HBO is expanding its Game of Thrones franchise, but the many planned spinoffs overlook a core part of the original show. Even prior to Game of Thrones’ ending, HBO was looking at ways to continue things, exploring various prequel options. One, Bloodmoon, based on the Long Night, made it to the pilot stage, before being scrapped despite a reported $25-30 million being spent on it. So far, only House of the Dragon has actually made it to the screen.
That will change with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ release later in 2025, though it’s not actually a bad thing. The network is clearly taking its time to assess the many different options it has, only green lighting something when they’re really happy with it - a somewhat rare degree of patience in a world where franchises are king. Still, with so many Game of Thrones spinoffs in development,...

Anyone who has watched HBO’s Game of Thrones or has read George R.R. Martin’s novels has gotten a hint of how the storyline is rooted deep in history. But it took a real nerd to figure out the clear connection between A Song of Ice and Fire and the War of the Roses, even before the author cited his source material.

According to George R.R. Martin’s interview, the author admitted taking inspiration from several historical novels, including Thomas B. Costain’s A History of the Plantagenets, for his fantasy series. Writing the two main houses of the show, Lannisters and Starks, based on the Lancasters and the Yorks, Martin admitted being inspired by the legendary English Civil War.

The death of Ray Stevenson in 2023 created one of those terrible dilemmas for Star Wars series Ahsoka, as the actor’s powerful performance as Baylan Skoll was one that became a huge part of the Disney+ series’ success. There seemed to be no question that the character would need to be recast, and finally the answer about who will be stepping into those mighty shoes has been revealed. As per The Hollywood Reporter, who confirmed a slightly earlier rumor by journalist Jeff Sneider, Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will be swapping the sword of The Hound for the lightsaber of Skoll.
Information about Season 2 of Ahsoka has been very slow in coming from Disney and Lucasfilm. With several other Star Wars shows failing to be granted a second season, the time between the 2023 release of Season 1 and lack of movement on Season 2 made many fans wonder if it could be next for the chop.

Robb Stark's death in Game of Thrones was one of the most tragic and upsetting, but the Young Wolf wasn't without mistakes of his own. Game of Thrones season 1 is perhaps the most accurate to the original A Song of Ice & Fire novels by George R.R. Martin, which depicts Robb as a boy of 15 forced to lead his country to war on behalf of his imprisoned father. Robb became a fan favorite in both the TV series and the books, as he's the only one who manages to pull off victories against the seemingly unstoppable Lannisters.
Robb's efforts prove to be for nothing when the Starks are massacred at the wedding between Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey, held at the Twins. This event, famously known as the Red Wedding, is one of the most iconic moments in television history, seen by fans and TV lovers as the defining betrayal plot twist.
