Sujoy Mukherjee(I)

Sujoy Mukherjee is an Indian Actor, Director and Producer. He has won Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2019 for his short film Ab Mujhe Udnaa Hai as a filmmaker. This short film went on to win 39 Prestigious awards world-wide. Sujoy Mukherjee is the director and owner of Filmalaya Studio and Joy Mukherjee Productions. He hails from a family of legends who have left an indelible mark in the history of Indian Cinema. He is the third generation of film makers from the lineage of Padma Shri Sashadhar Mukherjee to Shri Joy Mukerji. Born in to the family of legends, he started his career as an Assistant Director. He went on to do films as lead actor in films like 'Mehboob Mere Mehboob', Hum Hain Kamal Ke and Pyar Pyar. He has garnered an enriching experience as an actor, writer, director and producer. He made daily soaps Apne Paraye , Gustakhi Maaf and ' Aye Dil- E- Nadaan' which was awarded the best serial of the year for Doordarshan. 'Shivaji Maharaja' a documentary film directed by Sujoy, covering 10 forts across Maharashtra was widely appreciated and his father, Joy Mukerji's unreleased movie featuring his maternal uncles Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar- 'Love in Bombay' under Joy Mukerji Productions was released on the great occasion of 100 years of Cinema by him and his elder brother Monjoy Mukerji. Sujoy was also the associate producer of ' Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara' under Joy Mukerji Productions and the film is released on Amazon Prime. The likes of his family talents like Kajol , Rani Mukerji, Ayan Mukerji is quite evident and the same reflected on Sujoy's Directorial debut short film ' Ab Mujhe Udna Hai- Let Me Soar High' that has won him 39 awards across Nations. The most prestigious award being the Dadasaheb Phalke Award- 2019 for best short film. He went on to make two more short films- ' Ummeed' which has won 7 awards and 'Zindagi Anmol Hai' has won 35 awards all over the globe. Sujoy Mukerji conceptualized and made a song- - 'Humara Hindustan on Covid-19 during the lock-down which was selected as official campaign song to fight against Covid-19 by the BJP, they have even uploaded the song -'Humara Hindustan' on their social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Sujoy has Written, Directed & Produced a Web Film- Nachaniya which is releasing soon on Tamasha Ott.
