- Clyde the Beagle was his traveling companion. Clyde passed on January 30, 2010.
- Attended Calvert Hall College High School in Towson.
- There was a thoroughbred racehorse named Phlash Phelps. This horse won in the Maryland Million Turf at Pimlico Race Course in 2015.
- During Phlash's task to make fifty states in a year, the Lamar Advertising Company erected a billboard on Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania, at the Scranton exit, to honor Phelps and his journeys quest.
- In 2019 the rock band The Cyrkle started performing and recorded an original song, "Phlash Phelps 60's 0n 6". Dedicated to Phlash Phelps Phunny Pharm, and often played on the radio show. A favorite among fans of the SiriusXM radio show. The Cyrkle known for their 60's hit songs "Red Rubber Ball" and "Turn Down Day" include this new song in any venues they perform at.
