Jacques Sauvageot was born on 16 April 1943 in Dijon, Côte-d'Or, France. He was an actor, known for Pano Will Not Be Shown (1969) and Mai 68 (1968). He died on 28 October 2017 in Paris, Ile-de-France, France.

Vice-president of the Union nationale des étudiants de France (UNEF), he was with Alain Geismar and Daniel Cohn-Bendit, one the leaders of the students during the Mai 1968 events in France. He later became an art history professor and director of an art school in Rennes from 1983 to 2009.
