Actress Khushalii Kumar’s film ‘Starfish’ featuring actors Tusharr Khanna, Milind Soman, and Ehan Bhat has released its new wedding song ‘Madhaniyan’ with a music video.
While the song harbours the full spirit of a happy wedding, the video is anything but celebrations as Khushalii is reluctantly smiling at her own wedding with Tusharr, missing her actual lover played by Ehan.
Rather painful to watch, the music video contradicts its entire festive, jovial, and celebratory mood as the passionate singing of Manan Bharadwaj which really brings in the wedding spirit, matches the song perfectly but in a unique contrast.
Essaying the character of Tara, Khushalii’s wedding partner Tusharr, who plays ‘Aman-Mr. Righteous’, and his entire family are smiling and dancing in joyful celebrations, but Tara is forcefully and reluctantly smiling as she deeply misses her rebel-style lover Neil while Aman is the exact opposite of her personality.
Still undergoing the wedding processions,...

New Delhi, Nov 16 (Ians) The trailer for actress Khushali Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Starfish’ is out and it gives an insight into her curious world of underwater exploration, diving, and the ghosts of her past which haunt her.
Set in Europe, the actress who essays the role of Tara, a rebellious girl is heard saying: “Memories are weird, they are unpredictable. They are deep, as deep as the ocean, and that is my life.”
Throughout this scene, she is seen alongside a bunch of other professional divers, trying to unearth something. Then it cuts to her previous life where she falls in love with actor Ehan Bhatt’s character Neil, a free-spirited musician.
Diving into his world of music, he too hesitantly explores her world of diving and when he asks her about how she isn’t afraid of drowning, she coyly replies: “I’m afraid of the living, not the dead.

Singer Arijit Singh’s latest single ‘Fanna Kar Lo’ for the film ‘Starfish’ is a free-spirited, rebellious romance. A full on mellifluous romantic electronic pop adventure, the track brings together the underwater worlds of actress Khushali Kumar’s ‘Rebel-Tara’, and the musical world of actor Ehan Bhatt’s ‘Neil-The Free Spirited’.
A simplistic composition, the song is primarily blending elements of electronic pop with the occasional bits of ‘70s style synth-pop, merging them with bits of symphonic music.
The composition is nonetheless creative as it does exactly what it is meant to do, which was to create a mood of timeless endless life, filled with romance and adventure.
‘Fanna Kar Lo’ is mainly carried by Arijit Singh’s vocals who at this point needs little praise. Putting his heart and soul into it, the vocals of Arijit are the best part of the song as it sublimely blends with the...

Barely 48 hours before release, Akhilesh Jaiswal's bio-pic on Hindi porn writer Mastram was finally cleared by the Censor Board Of Film Certification (Cbfc) with only two minor cuts. Much relieved producer Sunil Bohra says, "They cleared our film with just two minor cuts, a visual and an audio one." Apparently the Cbfc wanted the word 'badjaat' to be beeped out, which the makers of Mastram happily did. Says the relieved producer, "Until Tuesday we were not being given a censor clearance. I had started wondering if we'd be able to release our film on time! We finally got what we wanted. We were sure we wanted an 'Adults' certificate. We also knew there was nothing sleazy or vulgar about our film." If there is nothing suggestive or vulgar in Mastram why all the provocative tantalizing publicity? Defends Bohra, "Have we shown any nudity or sex in our publicity? We needed to get audiences interested.

Tara Alisha Berry who lost her golfer-father Gautam Berry just two months ago, is stepping into Hindi films with a very unusual debut vehicle. Tara who was lately in the news for an unsavoury property dispute with her stepbrother Sikander (Gautam Berry's son from his first wife Kirron Kher), will be seen as Hindi pornographic literature's resident-guru Mastram's wife in Akhilesh Jaiswal's film on the porn litterateur. When asked about her unusual choice for a debut, Tara says, "It was the script that clinched the deal for me. I had no clue who Mastram was. But I simply fell in love with the script. The director Akhilesh Jaiswal and I connected instantly." Tara was not put off by the porn theme. "The film is about a porn writer. But there is nothing lurid or sleazy about the content. I found that to be deliciously ironical. It's a film about India's most well-known porn writer.

Gangs of Wasseypur writer Akhilesh Jaiswal is all set to make his directorial debut with film Mastram. The film is a story of a reluctant pornographic writer who actually aspired to be a litterateur. Every adolescent and post-adolescent young male in North India has at one time or the other savoured the pornographic literature of Mastram, a pseudonym for India's most successful Hindi porn writer who is now the subject of the film. Says Akhilesh, "Like all boys I also read Mastram's books. I always used to wonder who this guy was. When I was visiting the smaller towns of North India for my research on Gow, I came across his books again. I discovered he still has a huge fan-following. That's when I decided to make a film on Mastram's life. No one knows if this man exists. I've made a fictional biography." Rahul Bagga, who played Kunal Kapoor...

Mumbai, April 1: Akhilesh Jaiswal, co-writer of "Gangs of Wasseypur", is making his directorial debut with "Mastram", about a porn book author and says it is a "fictional biography".
"'Mastram' is about a porn book, which is selling in north India. It is a fictional biography of the writer. It is my take on how he became the writer of 'Mastram'," said Jasiwal who has teamed up with Rahul Bagga and Tasha Berry for the movie.
The first-time director says the writer of the book always intrigued him.
"During my teenage, I used to read 'Mastram' and I used to wonder who is this guy? And what he would be telling his family?.

Gangs Of Wasseypur Part 1
Stars: Manjoj Bajpai, Richa Chaddha, Reemma Sen, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tigmanshu Dhulia | Written by: Akhilesh Jaiswal, Anurag Kashyap, Sachin K. Ladia, Syed Zeeshan Qadri | Directed by: Anurag Kashyap
Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur, opens with what I assume will lead to the conclusion of part 2, a gang out to kill a rival gang member, completely destroying his house, and they do not stop till they assume everyone inside is dead. This is 2004. Flash back to pre-Independence India, a man is banished from his village and then later killed by the man he works for. These are the two events which lead his son, Sardar Khan (Manoj Bajpai), on his path of vengeance, and to become the most feared man in Wasseypur.
Kashyap’s style has been compared to that of Quentin Tarantino, and while he may not admit to any direct influence or inspiration, it is...

Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur is a magnificent saga and a visual delight! For a revenge-drama spanning decades and chronicling generations, it does extremely well and engages the audience. The hero (here antihero) of the first part of the film is Sardar Khan (Manoj Bajpai) whose mission in life is to seek revenge from Ramadhir Singh (Tigmanshu Dhulia) who had killed his father. In that sense, it is a typical revenge story but the sheer magnitude of the tale and the settings make it appear grand. After a lengthy introduction of his ancestors through voiceovers and archival videos, the film settles down to tell the story of Sardar Khan and his revenge.
The film is full of gut-wrenching violence, bloodbath and expletives. Despite that,...
