Satyaprakash Upadhyay(I)

Satyaprakash Upadhyay is an Indian film and documentary director and producer. In 2012, he worked as first assistant for the film, Aalaap. In 2014, he worked as first assistant director for the critically acclaimed film, Children of War. He is also the founder of Narrative Pictures, a Mumbai based film production company and has taken on the role of Producer and Director for various projects under the banner. 'Bunkar - The Last of the Varanasi Weavers' (2018) is his debut as an Indian Documentary feature film director. Bunkar earned a nomination in the prestigious Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India (2018). For this film he has also won the Best Debutant Director (Documentary) at the Jaipur International Film Festival (2019). He has also produced a short film Neer (2018), which selected at various film festivals including the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (2018). The film then went on to win the Special Jury Mention Award at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival (2018).
