Tonight on “The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras,” the Challengers arrive to the Arena to see classic, brutal eliminations from each era awaiting them. The Challenge Season 40 will unleash a starstudded lineup of cast members representing the extensive history of MTV’s competition series.

Appropriately named Battle of the Eras, four teams represent four eras, each featuring 10 cast members picked from the show’s 39 seasons.

On Tuesday, the first official trailer for the new season arrived with hard-hitting moments featuring the show’s significant stars.

“We’ve chosen the toughest players in 40 seasons,” host Tj Lavin says as images of the various competitors arrive on-screen.

In the footage, viewers see the 40 stars who will step onto the playing field, including Johnny Bananas, Chris “Ct” Tamburello, Jordan Wiseley, Cara Maria Sorbello, Amanda Garcia, Tori Deal, and Tina Barta.

The trailer also teases plenty of exciting situations viewers will see, including one superstar’s potential season-ending injury and a possible heated moment as an Og calls out a castmate.

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras features a group of 40 stars and legends from the 39 seasons of MTV’s competition series.

However, multi-time champion Jordan Wiseley said the treatment during filming was some of the “worst” the cast ever experienced.

Jordan is part of a 10-person team that features his ex-fiancee, Tori Deal, and former Real World: Portland castmate, Nia Moore.

In addition, he’s teamed up with other successful MTV stars, including Ride or Dies winner Devin Walker and multiple-time finalist Leroy Garrett.

Jordan is among the cast’s all-time greats, but he’ll have formidable competition, including Chris “Ct” Tamburello, Johnny Bananas, Derrick Kosinski, Mark Long, and Darrell Taylor to contend with.

“Most people think that we go on The Challenge and work out all the time and turn into savages,” Jordan shared in a new Instagram video.

“No, the entire time in there, we are losing shape.

The Challenge continues to introduce castmates who become romantic, whether dating one another during the filming or away from the show.

Among the couples that fans saw form are Leroy Garrett with Kam Williams, Zach Nichols with Jenna Compono, and Cara Maria Sorbello with Paulie Calafiore.

More recently, viewers saw castmates Horacio Gutierrez and Nurys Mateo explore a showmance on the show that led to a romantic relationship away from reality TV.

Former Survivor winner Michele Fitzgerald hasn’t had the best of luck on the show regarding men.

That included her discovering after MTV’s Season 39 that castmate Callum Izzard was exploring a showmance with her during filming, all while he had a girlfriend away from the show.

She also expressed interest in castmates Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat and Emanuel Neagu, neither of which worked out in her favor.

However, Michele may have finally found happiness with another castmate from The Challenge.

Chris “Ct” Tamburello is typically considered an intimidating competitor by most of his opponents on MTV’s The Challenge.

The five-time champion has shown abilities to excel in all aspects of the game, whether devouring disgusting food, solving puzzles, or physical tasks.

While he’s tamed his inner beast regarding physical altercations with castmates, that beast still exists regarding eliminations.

Fans often refer to his highlight moment when he wore castmate Johnny Bananas like a backpack to win an elimination.

While most competitors wouldn’t want to go against Ct in a physical elimination, an All Stars cast member doesn’t seem fearful about challenging him.

A vicious proxy war has been erupting between Disney CEO Bob Iger and Trian Partners founder Nelson Peltz over the last three months regarding control of two seats on the company’s corporate board. It’s official: Disney shareholders shot down activist investor Nelson Peltz’s effort to win seats on the Mouse House’s board of directors. Investors voted to reelect all 12 of the company-backed board members, including CEO Bob Iger, ending the most expensive corporate proxy fight in history.

The voting results for Disney board candidates were announced Wednesday at the company’s 2024 meeting of shareholders, held virtually. Peltz, who heads investment firm Trian Partners, failed to get enough votes in his favor to clinch a board seat.

Horacio Gutierrez, Disney’s senior EVP, chief legal and compliance officer, who oversaw the proceedings at the meeting, said that the preliminary vote tabulations showed Disney’s 12 directors had won reelection by a “substantial margin” over the candidates nominated by Trian and a smaller investment firm, Blackwells Capital. While Nurys didn’t enter the game as a rookie, she was entering her second season, and this time, she had to fight against tougher odds.

Nurys won multiple eliminations to earn her spot in the Season 39 final, something no other finalists could say they did.
