Sam Hartshorn is a filmmaker from North Yorkshire, UK. In 2014, he was awarded EON's Ones To Watch award. His short "Itcher" was featured on BBC3's "The Fear". His short sci-fi film "Where Were You?" attracted praise from Rogue One director, Gareth Edwards. He studied Film and Television Production at the University of York and in 2021, his coming-of-age feature Cardboard Fort premiered at the Austin Film Festival. He recently was a winner of the Straight8 competition, placing in their Cannes selection for his documentary titled "How We Spent Our Time" which was praised by judges Mark Jenkin, Asif Kapadia and Jess Search. He recently finished production on a silent comedy titled "Charlie's Last Laugh" which went on to win On8Mil's Monochrome Stories competition.
