Robert Kirkendall grew up in San Jose, California, attended San Jose State University, and lives in Santa Cruz, California. He began writing in the early 1990s and worked at a variety of jobs over the years to support himself. In Santa Cruz he became a member of the Briefly Scene play-writing workshop where he developed the scripts for the drama anthology Pacific Television Theater. He has also published a number of short stories and other writings on his website robertkirkendall.com.
