When Hanna was classified as a 12A I was a little disappointed. Though it didn’t stop me from wanting to see the film, I couldn’t help but wonder if they had compromised to get a wider audience. Whether they did or not, it works brilliantly the way it is. Though a story about a teenage assassin has the potential to be quite dark, Hanna is quite enjoyable.

Saoirse Ronan plays 16 year-old Hanna, who is raised in the forest in Finland, away from civilization, by her father Erik (Bana). She is trained to become the perfect assassin, and sent off alone on the mission she’s always been destined for.
