HBO have sent us this cool infographic for the eagerly anticipated second season of Boardwalk Empire which breaks down each character and their motivations, just in time for the premiere of season two.

Created and written by Terence Winter (The Sopranos), directed and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, and starring Steve Buscemi and Kelly MacDonald, the show follows Buscemi’s character Nucky Thompson in prohibition-era Atlantic City, tracing his rise to power among the underworld. Boardwalk Empire also stars Michael Kenneth Williams, Stephen Graham, Michael Stuhlbarg, Joseph Riccobene, Michael Shannon and Michael Pitt.

Atlantic City, 1921: Though his fortunes have soared in the wake of the enactment of Prohibition, Nucky Thompson is paying a steep price for wielding ultimate power in “the world?s playground.” Following the ?20 election, Nucky finds himself the target of an investigation for voter fraud and faces not only jail, but insurrection by some of those he considered his closest allies.
