Judge Dredd creator John Wagner has spoken to the L.A. Times on the upcoming Dredd, due for release this September. Wagner who created the original 2000 A.D. with Carlos Ezquerra in 1977, told the paper how the new version differs from 1995’s Sylvester Stallone effort: "'Dredd' homes in on the essential job of judging, Instant justice in a violent future city... The plot is about Dredd and his world. It’s impossible to cover every aspect of the character and his city. Perhaps that was one of the failings of the first film.
