DreamWorks' Starbuck remake may land Vince Vaughn
Vince Vaughn of Fox's upcoming The Watch, is in negotiations to star in Starbuck helmed and scripted by the original filmmaker Ken Scott. Variety reports that Vaughn would play a middle-aged man whose life is thrown into complete chaos after finding out he's the father of 533 children via sperm donation. When hundreds of the kids express a need to meet their real father, the man (codenamed Starbuck) has to decide whether or not he should reveal his identity. Andre Rouleau will produce Starbuck, which Scott Mednick is serving as executive producer on. DreamWorks is planning to start filming some time later this year. The original film shot in Montréal, Québec, Canada, starred Patruck Huard and Julie LeBreton, and nabbed several audience awards including at the Sonoma and Palm Springs fests.
