Joe Cornish on E.T./Sci-Fi Film “Rust”
Deadline reports that Joe Cornish, the talented British director behind Attack The Block, has signed on to direct Fox’s production of Rust, a sci-fi film drawing comparisons to E.T. The film is based on the novel by the same name written by Royden Lepp, and Aline Brosh McKenna (27 Dresses, Devil Wears Prada) wrote the script that sounds more like Iron Giant than E.T. to me. Either way, tough hype to match.
The film features a robot that appears mysteriously on a family farm, and unsurprisingly, causes change in their lives.
