Liverpool Transfer News: Andy Carroll to Spurs For £16m?
They aren’t always the best sources for rumours, but an account on Twitter purportedly belonging to a football agent working with various players around England has suggested that Andy Carroll may very soon be the subject of a £16m bid from Tottenham Hotspur.
Here’s the offending Tweet:
Whether or not there is anything in the Tweet remains unconfirmed, but Carroll has already been the subject of two highly publicised bids this summer from West Ham and former club Newcastle United, and it seems Liverpool are looking to cash in on their £35m England frontman. He has also previously been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, where Andre Villas-Boas only has Jermain Defoe to play up-front at the minute.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers spoke ahead of the game (via the Chester Chronicle) with West Brom about Carroll’s future, offering no confirmation either way that the player is in his immediate plans,...
