Roland Emmerich Buys “Emergence” For Next Sci-Fi Film
Roland Emmerich, following White House Down, will be returning to science fiction. He bought a pitch from writer Nic Kelman entitled Emergence, which is described as a “large scale contemporary science fiction film.” So, most sci-fi films.
It’s been described as an alien invasion story “containing hot-button science elements” much like Emmerich’s Day After Tomorrow. Emmerich is known for 2012 and Independence Day, and delivering big hits globally, if not critically loved ones. We’ll see if Emergence can buck the trend.
