
Lawrence of Arabia star Peter O'Toole dies, aged 81

Lawrence of Arabia star Peter O'Toole has died at the age of 81.
The actor passed away at the Wellington Hospital in London on Saturday (December 14) following a long illness, according to his agent Steve Kenis.

He rose to fame when he played Te Lawrence in David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia in 1962 and went on to score eight 'Best Actor' Academy Award nominations during a career spanning over 50 years.
However, he never won the Oscar, making him the most-nominated actor never to win the accolade.
O'Toole went on to appear in movies such as Goodbye Mr Chips, The Ruling Class, The Stunt Man and My Favourite Year, and was presented with an honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement in 2003.
