Well, "Sam & Cat," Nickelodeon's wildly successful spin-off of two of its most popular shows ("iCarly" and "Victorious"), has been quietly cancelled before the last four episodes of the series had been shot or aired. This Thursday's episode (number 36 for those playing at home), will serve as the de facto series finale. Program your DVRs accordingly.

The series, which starred Ariana Grande, who is currently dominating the pop radio airwaves with her single "Problem," and Jennette McCurdy, who had a minor backlash when some racy (but non-nude) photos leaked online, had been plagued by production problems, according to a story posted on The Wrap. After the show became a smash, Nickelodeon upped the series order to a whopping 40 episodes, which put the cast and crew on edge and left them "exhausted and taken advantage of," while the two stars wanted to be able to renegotiate their contracts and also take some time off.
