CNN cancels 'Crossfire,' more amid layoffs
CNN has canceled Crossfire—again—amid reports of around 300 layoffs at the network. The bipartisan political debate show had been on an extended hiatus since late July when the news broke on Wednesday. All four hosts—Stephanie Cutter, Newt Gingrich, S.E. Cupp and Van Jones—will remain with the network as political commenters, a source confirmed to EW. Much of the production staff has been absorbed into other roles within the network. Also being phased out are Sanjay Gupta MD, CNN Money with Christine Romans, and Unguarded with Rachel Nichols.
