5.6 Million People Got High and Watched Bob Ross’s The Joy of Painting on Twitch, So Now It’s Here to Stay

Twenty years after his death, 5.6 million people watched Bob Ross's The Joy of Painting on Twitch last week. The Amazon-owned live-streaming site used mostly by gamers announced Monday that, after a nine-day marathon of the beloved artist's therapeutic painting tutorials drew such huge numbers, it'll make Ross and his famous Afro a mainstay on the platform. As of this week, Twitch is starting Bob Ross Night, and will air an entire season of The Joy of Painting every Monday from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Est. (There are 31 seasons, so you don't have to worry about a repeat until midway through next year.) The site will also hold an annual Bob Ross marathon on October 29, in honor of his birthday.
