In Patricia Rozema's Into the Forest, Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood suffer through the worst blackout you could possibly imagine. Living in a society that relies so heavily on technology, this is a deep-rooted fear for all of us. How it plays out in Into the Forest is equally nightmarish and beautiful, as these two women serve as a beacon of hope and survival.

We caught the film when it played Tiff last year, so we can attest to its greatness. Stunning cinematography, a gorgeous soundtrack, and an extremely paranoid nature are just the backdrop to the brave performances by Page and Wood, who play sisters left abandoned in their glass home, which happens to be by the forest in British Columbia.
