Movie News: 'Cannonball Run' Ready for Re-launch; Watch 'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' TV Spot
The Cannonball Run: Rawson Dawson Thurber (Central Intelligence) is in negotiations to direct a new version of The Cannonball Run. Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, known for the Night at the Museum series, are also in negotiations to write the script. Featuring an all-star cast, the 1981 original (above) was inspired by a real-life cross-country auto race and spawned two sequels; a new version has been in development for years. The aim is to launch a new franchise. [Deadline] Dock: O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton, above) will star in Dock.
