
Melissa Benoist To Star In ‘Beautiful: The Carol King Musical’ In Broadway Debut

Melissa Benoist, who stars on the CW’s Supergirl, will star beginning next month as the lead of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which will mark her Broadway debut. The limited run begins June 7 through August 4.
The current Broadway cast features Chilina Kennedy as Carole King at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where it opened in 2014; the musical just became the highest-grossing production ever at the venue. Jessie Mueller originally played King and won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical. Kennedy will return to the role after Benoist’s run.
