Ellen DeGeneres Inks Three-Year Deal For ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

Ellen DeGeneres will continue her top-rated daytime talk show for the next three seasons, she announced today. The deal extends The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘s run through 2022.
“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be doing my show for three more years,” DeGeneres told her audience during today’s show. “Mostly because I love doing it so much every day but also because that takes me to the end of my car lease.”
There had been some speculation that DeGeneres would leave the show when her current contract was up in 2020. Earlier this month, she spoke with Deadline ahead of Netflix’s Fysee screening of her special Relatable that she was “torn” on how long to keep the show. “I love doing the show, and I also love doing other things,” she said at the time. But clearly that was all put to rest today with her announcement.
