Ronnie Sandahl wraps shooting for Tigers - Production / Funding - Sweden/Italy/Denmark
The Swedish-Italian-Danish co-production is a coming-of-age drama set in the world of professional football. Ronnie Sandahl has wrapped shooting for his new project, a coming-of-age film entitled Tigers. This is the Swedish writer-director’s sophomore feature, which follows his successful debut, Underdog (2014), a drama starring actress Bianca Kronlöf in the lead role. The flick is also the second instalment in a trilogy set in the world of sports and comes after his writing work on Janus Metz’s Borg/McEnroe (2017). The script, penned by the director himself, is based on Martin Bengtsson’s 2007 autobiographical novel In the Shadow of San Siro. The story revolves around Bengtsson’s experience as a 17-year-old football wonderkid, freshly recruited by Inter Milan, whose dream turned into a nightmare when he started suffering from depression and tried to commit suicide.
