Rebooted British Satire Show ‘Spitting Image’ to Return for Second Season in Fall 2021
Spitting Image, the infamous politician-lampooning satirical British puppet show rebooted by U.K. streaming service BritBox, is set to return for a second season in the fall of 2021.
The series — which originally ran from 1984-1996 and helped launch the careers of comics such as Steve Coogan — has proved a hit for the BBC and ITV created platform. Subscribers since the show first launched on Oct. 3 — an episode that was hastily turned around to include Donald Trump’s Covid-19 infection — increasing 10-fold compared to the average daily rate.
