Like other recent iPhone models, the iPhone 14 doesn't have a physical Home button, meaning closing apps works slightly differently than on older iPhones. With the Home button, users could just press to go back to the Home screen, while double-tapping brought up multitasking screen, from where users could force close apps. However, that is no longer possible on newer iPhones. Still, closing an app is fairly easy on the iPhone 14, with many users even arguing that the process is actually more intuitive than the old method.

On all four iPhone 14 devices, users can use gesture navigation to get back to the Home screen from any app. The same feature is also used to access the App Switcher, from where users can close any app running in the background. To get out of an app and go back to the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom edge of the device.
