Chicago Fire Season 11 Bringing Back Matt Casey Following Severide Exit

Not even a year since he officially left the show, Chicago Fire season 11 is bringing back Jesse Spencer's Matt Casey in light of Kelly Severide's abrupt leave. Taylor Kinney is taking his personal time off from the series after requesting it in the middle of the ongoing year. While his absence will only be temporary, One Chicago will make sure to fill his void by recruiting another fan-favorite character.

Severide's farewell Chicago Fire season 11 episode has already been released. While NBC anticipates that Kinney will return as Severide, it is uncertain how long he's going to be gone. As a result, Variety reports that the Dick Wolf-produced series is bringing back Spencer's Matt Casey to Firehouse 51. Details about his stint are still murky, but his return helps fill in Severide's void, considering they were both the series' poster characters during its first decade.
