A new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom leak may actually explain the game’s title and a few of the story details behind Link’s adventure across a torn-apart Hyrule. The next tale in the popular Nintendo franchise is due to arrive for Switch consoles in May, when players will be able to unravel the mystery of what exactly happened to the continent after Link and Zelda meddled with the mummified body – seemingly Ganondorf’s – in Hyrule Castle, and where the princess wound up after being set apart from her knight.

It was implied that the Tears of the Kingdom made reference to the disappearance of the region’s princess immediately after her rescue, or perhaps how parts of the region float around as sky islands, much like tear drops falling from the heavens.
