Power Rangers' New Green Ranger Brings Back an Iconic 90s Weapon

Warning: contains Spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #107!Rita Repulsa has returned, better than ever, to the Power Rangers universe, and she's repeating one of her darkest plans by taking control of the Green Ranger. And while this new Green Ranger isn't Tommy Oliver, he is bringing back the original Ranger's evil weapon, made iconic by the '90s TV show.
In Melissa Flores, Simona Di Gianfelice, and Raul Angulo's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #107, Repulsa - who now is known as Mistress Vile - continues her campaign to kill Lord Zedd and finally conquer Earth. To help her accomplish her goal, she has kidnaped the new Green Ranger, Matthew Cook, and brainwashed him to become her servant. In a blast from the Power Rangers' 1990s past, he has gained possession of his own version of the Sword of Darkness, the super weapon that was both the boon and bane of that era's Green Ranger.
