Mark Fischbach, more commonly known as Markiplier, is arguably one of the most beloved YouTube personalities still working today. Originally joining the platform in 2012, he quickly rose to prominence through his walkthroughs of various horror games, garnering a following comprised of millions of people.

Now, more than a decade later, Markiplier is taking the director's chair in his own self-financed feature film. Keeping in touch with his roots, it'll be an adaptation of yet another indie horror game. However, it's a certain indie game with plenty of feature-film potential.

Iron Lung, initially developed by David Szymanski of Dusk and Squirrel Stapler fame, will be the subject of Markiplier's feature film. Originally a low-budget horror title that focused on using the player's imaginations against them, the game's surrounding lore offers a fascinating world to explore in a multimedia franchise.
