Spectacular Spider-Man Finally Appears in an Across the Spider-Verse Ad

The titular Webslinger from the hit cartoon The Spectacular Spider-Man has been spotted in a new ad for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
A screengrab from an unknown Across the Spider-Verse promo was shared on Twitter, confirming that the fan-favorite version of Peter Parker will indeed appear in the upcoming animated movie. While some Spider-Man fans were initially worried that the image was fake, Matt McDonald -- a lighter/composer at Sony Imageworks who worked on Across the Spider-Verse -- retweeted the image and confirmed that it was real. "I put a lot of extra effort into making him stay true to his Spectacular style. Hoping there is a larger resolution soon," McDonald wrote on Twitter. This is the second time Spectacular Spider-Man has shown up in Across the Spider-Verse publicity materials. He previously appeared on the movie's first poster alongside hundreds of other Spider-Man variants.
