Simon Pegg Discusses His Struggle With Alcoholism While Filming Mission Impossible 3

Simon Pegg opened up about how he kept his alcoholism a secret on the set of Mission: Impossible 3.
Per The Guardian, Pegg sat down with BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs where he shared about his struggles with alcohol addiction while rising as a star in the early 2000s. Pegg's alcoholism was the result of long-term depression since his teenage years which came back around during the production of 2006's M:i-3 when he made his franchise debut as Imf technical field agent Benji Dunn. The actor relied heavily on the bottle to get through his scenes and suppress his emotional pain. "You become very sneaky when you have something like that in your life. You learn how to do it without anyone noticing because it takes over. It wants to sustain itself and it will do everything it can to not be stopped," Pegg said.
