Mortal Kombat 2's Johnny Cage Problem Is The Sequel's Biggest Challenge
Johnny Cage will join Earthrealm's warriors in Mortal Kombat 2, but his integration into the movie is more complicated than it might seem to be. 2021's Mortal Kombat brought the beloved fighting game franchise back to the big-screen, this time focusing on a new protagonist named Cole Young (Lewis Tan). A struggling Mma fighter, Cole learns that he is a descendant of Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) and joins Earthrealm's fighters for the upcoming martial arts tournament known as Mortal Kombat, in order to save the world from the conquest of Outworld.
At the end of Mortal Kombat, Cole and his fellow Earthrealm warriors set about recruiting new fighters to stand against the next battle with Outworld, with Cole headed to Los Angeles to recruit action movie star Johnny Cage.
