Carmen Gutiérrez in "Griselda" is a character inspired by real women connected to Griselda Blanco in real life. Several women, including Carmen Caban, Gloria Caban, and Maria Gutiérrez, betrayed Griselda Blanco and contributed to her downfall. The writers condensed these real-life inspirations into one character, Carmen Gutiérrez, for storytelling purposes.
Griselda tells the true story of Griselda Blanco, a Colombian drug lord based out of Miami, and many of the supporting characters in the show are based on (or inspired by) real people in her life during her reign in the cocaine-based drug trade business.
