Pokemon Voice Actor Confirms Original Mascot & Reveals Pikachu Alternative
Sarah Natochenny, the English dub voice actor for Ash Ketchum, has explained which Pokémon would be the best alternative to Pikachu -- and it just so happens to be the series' original mascot.
Cbr was live at a Q&a with Sarah Natochenny panel at MegaCon Orlando this weekend, where the American voice actor answered questions from the fans. Among the many questions, one audience member asked Natochenny what Pokémon partner she would pick for Ash beside his faithful companion, Pikachu. "Clefairy," Natochenny replied. "The mascot wasn’t originally going to be Pikachu. It was going to be Clefairy."
