With two of the Big Three Shonen series finished airing, the anime industry was in dire need of another hit series — Demon Slayer became one of those shows. Demon Slayer has been praised for its stellar animation and fight sequences, but it also features a plethora of great characters. Many of the best characters are male, which is not surprising since it is a Shonen series, but Demon Slayer has some great female characters too.

Some of Demon Slayer's best female characters are demons, who typically serve in villainous roles. That being said, most of these female demons have sad backstories and endings, making them far more sympathetic than their plain evil counterparts. On the other hand, many of Demon Slayer's female characters are human, and they all have unique skills and character arcs.
