A First-Ever Betazoid Event Just Happened In Star Trek: Discovery

Star Trek: Discovery season 5, episode 7 is the first time the Betazoid written language is seen in Star Trek. Betazoids were introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation via Counselor Deanna Troi. Betazoid scientist Dr. Marina Derex hid her clue to the Progenitors' treasure in the Eternal Gallery and Archive.

Star Trek: The Next Generation introduced the Betazoids, the alien species Counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) belongs to, but a Betazoid first didn't happen until Star Trek: Discovery season 5. Betazoids are back in the spotlight in Star Trek: Discovery's 32nd century. One of the 24th-century scientists who found and hid the ancient, life-creating technology of the Progenitors is Dr. Marina Derex, a Betazoid who hid her clue in the Eternal Gallery and Archive.
