‘Palm Royale’ renewed for Season 2 by Apple
Apple TV+ wants to keep the caftans coming and has ordered up a second season of “Palm Royale,” the late ‘60s Florida-set society comedy starring Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Alison Janney, Josh Lucas, Ricky Martin, Leslie Bibb, Bruce Dern, and the nonagenarian Carol Burnett.
With brutal competition for streaming comedies right now, Apple’s Matt Cherniss was eager to boast about the series breaking through with audiences. “‘Palm Royale’ has delighted global audiences and we are thrilled that viewers will have the opportunity to spend more time with this highly entertaining, iconic cast, from Kristen Wiig to the incomparable Carol Burnett,” he said in a statement.
Laura Dern, credited as one of the series producers, was also delighted, saying she and her partners “have been dreaming up this project for so long in hopes that audiences would have delicious fun with the radical ride that is the world of ‘Palm Royale...
