For the longest time, Dusty’s been slowly deteriorating as a character that we enjoy watching. He goes from charming husband and loving father to obnoxiously rude partner and absent father slowly over the course of the show, which is more than disappointing. Specifically, because it’s the kind of life arc one doesn’t want to experience, going from somewhat perfect to someone most people despise. It’s not Dusty who’s the problem here; it’s more about how he ended up like this and why it changed him so much.

I suppose the expectation you might have of finding your potential is more vast than your actual potential, leaving one supremely disappointed.
