Forrest Gump Turns 30: WB Rejected Making Tom Hanks’ Most Popular Film for the Craziest Reason That Involved Tom Cruise
Exactly 30 years ago, Tom Hanks joined forces with Robert Zemeckis to create a film that would be etched in cinematic history forever — Forrest Gump. Sherry Lansing was at the top of Paramount at the time and the film was the biggest gamble during her time at the studio. Interestingly, the rights for the script based on Winston Groom’s book were owned by Warner Bros.
