In Adventure Time, Finn and Flame Princess had a rocky relationship, but as depicted in an alternate timeline from the comics, they could have ruled the Fire Kingdom together though perhaps at great cost. In Adventure Time #32, Finn's memories were eaten by the Mnemonoid, leading to a future where he may have caused a war over the broken hearts of the Princesses he scorned by staying with Flame Princes. The Adventure Time comics expand on the continuity of the series in exciting new ways, such as by depicting alternate timelines and "what-if?" scenarios.

Adventure Time has always been about having sweet adventures with awesome friends, but also when those friends become smooch-mates. Finn had his share of crushes, relationships, and broken hearts across the series, but one of his fan-favorite girlfriends was Phoebe, aka Flame Princess. The two came from vastly different worlds, so the relationship ultimately ended, but the comics reveal what could've been.
