Heat 2 Gets New Potential Filming Start Window From Michael Mann

Michael Mann affirms that he is still working on the screenplay for Heat 2. The movie could start filming at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. Heat 2's latest update affirms that Mann is serious about getting the movie going as soon as possible, with a release likely following in 2026.

Heat 2 gets a new update from Michael Mann, teasing a potential filming start window. Released in 1995, Heat stars Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, chronicling a deadly game of cat and mouse between a slick bank robber and a tenacious L.A. cop. Mann partnered with author Meg Gardiner to release a follow-up novel in 2022, which serves as both a sequel and a prequel to the events of the original story, and the director has since revealed that he intends to turn the novel into a Heat 2 movie.
