Stellar Blade divided the gaming community with the rather controversial design of its main protagonist, Eve. Catering to male audiences it has spawned backlash from the community. HoYoverse, known for its anime aesthetics seems to have shifted its focus in Zenless Zone Zero as the game has introduced male characters that are equally as visually appealing, if not more so.

In particular, due to specific character design elements, Von Lycaon has sparked a discussion online. While this isn’t anything groundbreaking or never seen before it is a nice touch from HoYoverse as it certainly got positive comments from the fanbase.

In many games, female characters are those with more freedom in design, incorporating attributes, such as exaggerated body proportions, large eyes, and revealing outfits. This is something not seen in their male counterparts as they come flat and without much effort for allure.
