Tribulation have announced a new album, Sub Rosa in Æternum, out November 1st via Century Media. The single “Tainted Skies” can be streamed now.

The Swedish band has fully adopted a more goth-tinged persona in recent years after emerging as a primarily death-metal centric act. As heard on “Tainted Skies,” there is no more emphasis on melodic guitar lines, moody atmospherics, and clean-sung vocals — bellowed by frontman/bassist Johannes Andersson in classic goth-rock fashion — balanced against harsher growls, the last stylistic holdover from the death metal days.

“The old and the new,” remarked guitarist Adam Zaars of the track. “‘Tainted Skies’ is a fairly straight forward Tribulation song written by [guitarist] Joseph [Tholl]. He gives the whole sound his own spin and takes us through murky depths and shadowy skies, from death to new life.”
