An announcement on X by the anime's official account has revealed that season 2 of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online will be released in Japan on Wednesday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 p.m. Japanese Standard Time (Jst). The announcement was originally made during the Aniplex x Kadokawa Anime Festival live stream on Friday.
