Fuse Media is looking for a one-two punch for its newly acquired trans boxing documentary Unfightable, with a limited theatrical release in September ahead of a TV premiere on ViX and Fuse later this year.

The film from Emmy-winning director and producer Marc J. Perez (Severe Clear, Anytown USA) and La Jaula Studios follows Alana McLaughlin, a U.S. Army Special Forces sergeant and transgender athlete, fighting for control of her life and her narrative while competing as a professional Mma fighter.

Latino-owned Fuse Media, which acquired the rights to Unfightable, unveiled its latest acquisition and first theatrical release amid a boxing gender testing controversy at the Paris Summer Olympics around the participation of Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting in the women’s competition.
